ABOUT US : Baptism & Membership

Membership at First Baptist is open to all who profess faith in Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior and publicly affirm that belief through baptism. Members agree to worship together, support one another in service to the broader community, and help choose First Baptist's leaders. Members also pledge their time and money to the church: thereís no minimum amount, just a willingness to commit to a regular contribution.

Ways to Join

By profession of faith and baptism: Those making a public profession of personal faith in Jesus Christ are received into membership upon their baptism.

By transfer of letter: Individuals who are members of other Baptist churches are received by that former church's letter of recommendation, transferring their membership.

Just as Jesus was baptized by John the Baptist in the Jordan River, baptism at First Baptist is a symbol of how you are spiritually transformed, being cleansed from sin and creating personal renewal in your life. Those who understand the commitment of faith to Christ and wish to respond to Godís call are welcome as candidates for baptism.

New members are encouraged to involve themselves in the life of the church. Most become actively involved at the level of their choosing within a few short months. We encourage potential members to meet with current members, staff and the pastor to talk about their interests, and how they would like to participate. We also encourage you to read our Church Covenant, to the left, to give you some background on how the congregation has seen the role of membership.

If youíre interested in becoming a member, please contact the church office or speak with our pastor. You can join at any time.
